Today I got my MVP renewal letter that informed me that I was re-awarded as Most Valuable Professional and therefore receiving the Microsoft MVP award for the fourth year in a row for doing a great job in serving the community by helping out on forums and other community events.

I would also like to congratulate my friends Anders Bengtsson, Joachim Nässlander, Martin Lidholm and Magnus Björk who also got the MVP award renewed this year!

Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) 2010 Update 1 Beta is available for testing

Microsoft just released the Update 1 beta for MDT 2010. MDT 2010 Update 1 provides new capabilities, such as:

· Support for Microsoft Office 2010.

· A new User-driven Installation (UDI) deployment method (formerly known as “Modena”) for Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007. UDI gives information technology (IT) staff control over the deployment experience while empowering users to interact with and customize their operating system deployment through an easy-to-use wizard.

· Improvements to the Deployment Workbench driver import process, detecting each driver’s true supported platforms.

· Many bug fixes and other small improvements.

Windows Home Server V2 Beta – Code Name Vail is now available

Visio 2010 Add-in now available for Operations Manager 2007 R2

Microsoft has updated the Visio Add-in to support Visio 2010. Except support for Visio 2010 they added support to publish your Visio diagrams as live dashboards in SharePoint.

SCE 2010 and DPM 2010 is now RTM

Today Microsoft announced that both System Center Essentials 2010 and System Center Data Protection Manager is RTM.

System Center Online Desktop Manager = Windows Intune

Last year at MMS Microsoft announced a new product called System Center Desktop Online Manager – Today they announced a rebrand of the product – Windows Intune

The feature set is the same as last year:

Manage updates
Protect PCs from malware
Proactively monitor PCs
Provide remote assistance
Track hardware & software inventory
Set security policies

The current plan is to release Windows Intune in Europe one year from now.

As of today you can sign up for the Public beta (note, the beta program is only available for customers in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico) –

Time to learn a new name – Kin

Today Microsoft announced the “Kin” phone. I’m not sure what to think yet, still to many questions unanswered:

How compatible is it with a upcoming Windows 7 Phones application store?
Does it have push mail? I think I heard them talking about contact from Exchange on the webcast but ’m not sure
Will it be sold outside US? If yes, will I be able to bye it in Sweden and from what operator?
I really like the “Kin Studio”- will this be the new version of the Windows live “My Phone” service and will it be available for all Windows Mobile phones?
Is there any limits on “Kin Studio” or can I upload unlimited amount of data? If not, what will it cost to expand it?
